Strategic Goals of the TIGER Usability and Clinical Application Design Collaborative Team

 

The work of this TIGER collaborative team is divided between meeting two specific objectives:  developing recommendations for improved clinical application design and improved usability of technology solutions that are used by nurses.  The specific outcomes of these different requirements are outlined below.

 

 

Design requirements and/or goals

  • Support evidence-based practice

  • Enables collaborative and interdisciplinary care

  • Provide seamless access to published literature, knowledge

  • Support the creation of new knowledge (knowledge discovery requirements)

  • Speed the translation of research into practice

  • Supports the continuum of care

 

Usability requirements and/or goals

  • Informed by and/or positively transforms nursing workflows

  • Identify key criteria for workflow to integrate with other disciplines

  • Systems designed using principles of human factors

  • Work with system developers to maximize clinical system effectiveness and efficiency for nurses
